Privacy Policy

1. Your files
MKD converts files entirely inside your web browser. Documents, slides and images you select are read by JavaScript running on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers. We do not receive, store, view or share the contents of your files.
Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side retention period: file data exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of the conversion and is discarded when you close or reload the page. The Markdown output is only saved if you choose to download or copy it.
When you convert an image, the text-recognition engine and its language data are downloaded from a public CDN (jsDelivr / unpkg) to your browser. Your image is not sent there — only the software is fetched.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
We store one small entry in your browser's local storage to remember your consent choice. Advertising partners may set cookies or read device identifiers once you consent (see below). We do not use cookies for profiling beyond advertising.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site is free and funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to show a single ad unit in the results area after a conversion completes. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may process data such as your IP address, device and browser information and interactions with ads. See How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
For visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, advertising is set to a denied state by default (Google Consent Mode v2) and no ad is requested until you choose. Consent there is collected through Google's certified consent message (Google Privacy & messaging), which is shown before any advertising becomes active; a simple on-site banner is used only if that message is unavailable. Visitors elsewhere may see ads without a banner.
4. Analytics
We do not run our own analytics or tracking product. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (for example IP address and request time) for security and reliability.
5. Managing or withdrawing consent
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via in the footer of every page. Rejecting means no advertising cookies are set; the converter keeps working exactly the same. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we do not operate a user account system or a database of visitors, most requests concern data processed by Google as an advertising provider.
7. Contact
